LTST AS has the opportunity to offer you a job with housing on Svalbard and invites you to join our small team in this beautiful place.

must-haves (please do not apply if you do not fulfill these criteria):

• journeyman's certificate as carpenter or similar trade or enough relevant work experience. Higher qualifications such as engineering degrees with work experience do also qualify.

• Driver's license, Class B or non-european equivalent

• previous experience working in Scandinavia/Finland

• fluent English skills, preferably also in writing

We would appreciate if you also had the following:

• Driver's license class BE or non-european equivalent

• License M4 (wheelloader) and C1 (telescope/boom truck, non-swinging)

• fluent in a scandinavian language

• min. 3 years of experience

Other:

• You are aware that working on Svalbard sometimes means working in extreme climate conditions. We have a long polar night and an even longer polar day. This can take a toll on some people. We will gladly help you navigate these challenges as best we can, but advise you to be aware.

• Some of our jobs are physically very demanding. One job this year consisted of 2 months of creep cellar work in a septic environment after a waste water leakage. We try to be honest about this to you, and hope that you can be honest to us as well.

Arbeidsoppgaver

Examples for earlier and upcoming projects:

• extensive renovation of a research station

• various types of rehabilitation after water damages

• different types of refundamentations in a permafrost-environment

• fireproofing of an entire hotel building

• total renovations of cabins

• rehabilitating and designing our own workshop in the way we need it

• easy-going but technically challenging janitorial services

Your responsibilities:

• you'll be charge of your own projects, either alone or managing others

• you'll also work together with the owner on other occasions

• you'll be managing and maintaining your own equipment

• you will, to some extend, be interacting with customers

• you will, to flexible degree, be able to make on-site decisions yourself
