Role overview

We are seeking an experienced Technical Safety Lead to join a major project. The role is responsible for developing and implementing safety strategies, solutions, and processes to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards. You will act as the Technical Safety Lead, following up on all discipline-related safety activities throughout the project lifecycle.

 

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement safety solutions and strategies with standard level of detail.
• Manage area classification, escape routes, and evacuation planning.
• Lead passive and active fire protection activities.
• Oversee fire and gas detection, ESD, and functional safety systems.
• Ensure all work is performed according to instructions, procedures, and contractual obligations.
• Monitor and follow the project schedule for safety-related deliverables.
• Serve as the Technical Safety Lead, providing guidance and follow-up for the discipline across the project.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safety standards are embedded across all activities.

 

Qualifications and experience

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree, preferably in mechanical or safety engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in safety engineering, technical safety, or related roles.
• In-depth knowledge of national regulations and standards (TR, NORSOK, etc.).
• Preferred experience in FPSO projects.
• Ability to work independently, thoroughly, and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
• High commitment to deadlines, quality, and proactive sharing of safety knowledge across teams.
• Multidiscipline understanding and the ability to seek information and solutions across disciplines.
