About the Role
We are looking for a Technical Service Engineer – Seawater Treatment Systems to join our passionate and innovative team at NOV. In this role, you will provide front-line technical and operational support throughout the entire lifecycle of our seawater treatment systems — from commissioning and performance testing to optimization and upgrades.
Your expertise will help ensure system reliability, enhance performance, and drive digital innovation through data analytics and remote monitoring. You’ll work closely with customers, project teams, and cross-functional departments to deliver excellence and bring out the best in us all.

Key Responsibilities Technical & Service
Provide front-line technical support for seawater treatment systems throughout their lifecycle, including concept selection, design, commissioning, start-up, troubleshooting, optimization, and upgrades.
Execute field service activities such as inspections, membrane testing, system cleaning, calibrations, and spares management.
Lead or support offshore campaigns covering start-up, performance testing, and maintenance.
Review and prepare process deliverables: PFDs/P&IDs, design calculations, control narratives, and maintenance procedures.
Conduct FAT/SAT, loop checks, cause-and-effect testing, and system handovers.
Collaborate with topside process systems to ensure smooth integration and operational reliability.
Digital & Data Analytics
Set up and maintain performance dashboards and remote monitoring systems.
Analyze operational data to detect fouling, scaling, and performance trends; propose data-driven optimizations.
Develop and maintain analytics models, root-cause libraries, and best practice documentation.
Provide remote troubleshooting support and performance recommendations.
Commercial & Project Support
Support tenders and proposals with scope definition, cost input, and technical clarifications.
Conduct site surveys and risk assessments for retrofits and digital upgrade projects.
Prepare comprehensive technical reports, method statements, and QA documentation.
HSE & Quality
Ensure all work complies with NOV’s HSE policies and local regulations.
Promote a strong safety culture, maintain high housekeeping standards, and contribute to continuous improvement.
Travel
Global travel (onshore/offshore) as required for projects, interventions, and training activities.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential Qualifications:
Degree in Chemical, Process, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in water treatment, filtration, or process engineering.
Experience preparing and reviewing process engineering deliverables (PFDs, P&IDs, design calculations).
Hands-on experience with commissioning, FAT/SAT, cause-and-effect testing, and system handovers.
Proficiency in process and analytical tools (Aspen, AutoCAD, PI Vision or similar), plus MS Office.
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret operational/process data.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Experience supporting tenders or providing technical input for proposals.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience supporting seawater treatment systems through design, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization.
Experience leading technical proposals and designing tailored equipment solutions.
Offshore experience and ability to work comfortably in offshore environments.
Hands-on experience with membrane systems (NF/RO), filtration (UF/MMF), deoxygenation technologies.
Data analytics, digital monitoring systems, or experience with remote troubleshooting.
Familiarity with NOV SRU systems or similar OEM technologies.
Multitasking ability and composure under stress—essential given multiple concurrent projects.
