Edda Wind is hiring a dedicated and experienced Marine HR Advisor
Role purpose:
The Marine HR Advisor is responsible for the end-to-end management of vessel crew operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-effective staffing across the fleet in close cooperation with Vessel Managers and external Crew Managers. This role supports the company’s strategic ambition to become the preferred employer in the offshore wind and oil & gas industry by delivering professional, reliable, and engaging crew management that fosters long-term retention, strong ship/shore culture, and operational excellence.
Reporting to: HR Director
Key areas of responsibility:
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and collective bargaining agreements
- Follow-up on strategic decisions and ensure alignment of crew structure and scheduling with organizational goals
- Develop and maintain crew rotation schedules aligned with operational needs and contractual obligations
- Ensure vessels are manned according to requirements and budget, with focus on cost-efficiency
- Lead the recruitment of qualified seafarers in accordance with internal policies/procedures and standards
- Administer and optimize the crewing system for effective planning, documentation, and regulatory compliance
- Monitor and ensure that external crew managers maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the HR system, including crew planning, documentation, certifications, medicals, and training
- Drive the development and implementation of Marine HR procedures
- Promote a positive, inclusive onboard culture and strong ship-shore collaboration
- Act as the primary point of contact for the vessel’s Master and Vessel Managers on crew-related matters
- Oversee third-party crew providers to ensure service delivery in line with contractual agreements and Marine HR standards
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on crew status, KPIs, and compliance
- Collaborate closely with HR, HSEQ, Technical, and Operations departments
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, but relevant experience may compensate for lack of formal education
- Minimum 5 years of experience in crewing operations for vessels
- Strong working knowledge of STCW, MLC 2006, and flag state requirements
- Proficiency in OCS or similar crewing management systems
- Experience in developing HR procedures and crew-related policies
- Solid understanding of cost control and budgeting within marine operations
- Fluent in Norwegian and English (written and spoken)
