Sourcing Engineer

Laerdal Medical is an international company with presence in more than 23 countries and Manufacturing plants in Norway, China, USA and Mexico. We have an international supplier base providing a wide range of products and services. 

We consider the Sourcing and Procurement function to be an important enabler to secure value creation for the company, and the development of new and existing supplies are an area of strategic importance to the company. 

Who your colleagues are

You will be a part of a highly talented and driven cross-functional Sourcing and Procurement team within Supply Chain and Manufacturing (SCM). Your home base will be in Forus outside Stavanger, and you get to work cross-functionally with stakeholders throughout the company. The position reports to the Sourcing and Procurement Manager.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• As a Sourcing Engineer, you will lead, develop and manage the suppliers as contract owner for selected components suppliers

• Provide sourcing service to support development projects in a timely manner and drive improvements on cost, service, process, sustainability and quality.

• Support Stavanger Manufacturing with sourcing of specific components and services 

• Identify potential suppliers, supplier qualification/audits and execute tender processes 

• Negotiate, establish supplier controls and implement new components in an efficient manner

Your qualifications:

• You hold a relevant technical bachelor’s or master’s degree and have a passion for strategic sourcing and motivation to understand business needs and challenges.

• You have minimum 3 years of experience with Sourcing/Procurement

• You are fluent in English written and orally. Knowledge of a Scandinavian language is an advantage
