Principal/Senior -Electronics Engineer
As Reach Subsea continues to expand, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Principal/Senior -Electronics Engineer to strengthen our high-performing R&D team in the Bergen office. In this role, you will:
Be responsible for the design, development, and validation of electronics systems used in subsea sensor technologies. This role requires a deep understanding of analog and digital circuit design, embedded systems, and environmental engineering for harsh and high-pressure subsea environments. Serve as a technical authority within the engineering team and will play a key role in the successful delivery of sensor systems for subsea monitoring, measurement, and communication.

Key Responsibilities:
- Electronics Design and Simulations
- Design and develop analog, digital, high-speed, and mixed-signal circuits
- Perform modeling and circuit simulations to validate design performance
- Create detailed schematics using Altium Designer
- PCB Layout
- Develop complex, multilayer PCB layouts optimized for performance and manufacturability
- Ensure signal integrity, low-noise performance, and impedance matching in high-speed designs
- Apply best practices for EMC/EMI compliance and board-level noise mitigation
- Design Validation & Testing
- Conduct laboratory testing and debugging of own designs
- Use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other diagnostic tools for verification and performance tuning
- Support design iterations based on test results and system-level integration feedback
Qualifications:
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Electronics Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 10 years of hands-on experience in research and development (R&D), with a strong track record of hardware innovation and system integration.
- Preferably experienced with marine geophysical instrumentation or similar high-precision sensing technologies.
Core Skills & Expertise:
- Analog Circuit Design: Specialized in low-noise signal conditioning, ADC/DAC integration, and robust power supply architecture.
- High-Speed Digital Interfaces: Extensive experience with Ethernet (including RGMII, SGMII), USB, PCIe, DDR, MIPI, LVDS, SLVS interfaces.
- Hardware Design Tools: Advanced proficiency with Altium Designer, SPICE simulation tools, MATLAB, and signal analysis/debugging platforms.
- EMC/EMI Compliance: Strong practical knowledge of electromagnetic compatibility and interference mitigation techniques.
- System Reliability Engineering: Deep understanding of system-level reliability, fault tolerance, and failure mode analysis (FMEA).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams across hardware, firmware, and system design.
