QEHS Manager
In this role, you will have overall responsibility for ensuring that the company complies with all relevant laws and regulations within quality, environment, health, and safety (QEHS). You will be a driving force in the development of systems and routines that strengthen the work environment, promote sustainability, and ensure efficient and safe processes. Through both strategic and operational work, you will build robust frameworks and a positive culture, acting as a trusted advisor to management in embedding QEHS throughout the organization.
As QEHS Manager at NordicEPOD, responsible for all production units, you will play a key role in maintaining and further developing the company's high standards within quality, environmental management, health, and safety. You combine strategic leadership with hands-on presence in the business, contributing to continuous improvement across the value chain. The position reports to the CEO NordicEPOD and is part of the company's management team.
Responsibilities
Strategic
Develop and further advance the company's overall QEHS strategy in line with business goals and project portfolio. Ensure that quality, environment, and HSE work are integrated into corporate governance and provide measurable business value. Advise the management team on compliance, risk management, and improvement processes. Help shape policies and company culture anchored in QEHS.
Quality
Ensure that materials and components meet all technical requirements, standards, and contracts. Perform incoming inspection and verification of critical components. Follow up with suppliers regarding traceability, certification (e.g., CE, EN 1090), and documentation. Lead improvement efforts through deviation management, root-cause analysis (e.g., 8D), and corrective actions. Standardize and maintain quality procedures throughout the value chain. Participate in technical evaluation and approval of new suppliers and products.
Health, Safety, and Work Environment
Develop and maintain HSE plans and procedures according to current legislation and best practice. Participate in risk assessments and safe job analyses, as well as strengthen emergency preparedness. Follow up on incidents and near misses, ensuring that preventive actions are implemented. Provide training and awareness throughout the organization.
Environment and Sustainability
Implement and maintain environmental management systems (such as ISO 14001). Establish environmental targets, monitor KPIs, and support reporting within sustainability. Initiate measures for waste reduction, energy efficiency, and reduced environmental impact.
Qualifications
- Higher education in engineering, quality, HSE, or equivalent experience
- Documented experience with quality management, HSE work, and systematic deviation handling
- Solid knowledge of ISO standards and certification processes
- Good understanding of current HSE and environmental laws and regulations
- Experience with audits and risk management
- Full proficiency in Norwegian and English, both written and verbal
