About the Role
KOK Oslo is on a mission to create world-class floating sauna experiences. As we grow, we need a Senior Operations Manager to be the central force behind our daily operations, data-driven decision making, and people development.
This is a role for someone who thrives on balancing strategic thinking with hands-on action. You’ll develop and implement strategic plans while also engaging directly with team members to ensure our guests get unforgettable experiences, our team runs smoothly, and our systems and infrastructure are geared for optimal operations.
We’re an entrepreneurial company, so flexibility, initiative, and a knack for creative problem-solving are essential. No two days will look the same - but every day, you’ll be developing and refining operational strategies and processes that will take KOK from Oslo to the world.
Your Responsibilities
1. People Operations
Lead, inspire, and develop our team of Base Leaders, Sauna Masters, and Skippers.
Oversee hiring, onboarding, and training processes.
Create and manage shift plans that balance team well-being with operational efficiency.
Handle personnel issues with professionalism, empathy, and a solutions-focused approach.
Foster a positive and high-performance culture.
2. Physical Operations
Oversee all aspects of daily sauna operations — ensuring safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.
Implement operational improvements to enhance guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Ensure equipment and facilities are maintained to the highest standard.
Work closely with Base Leaders to ensure seamless handovers between shifts.
3. Data Operations
Own and maintain our booking platform to ensure optimal product availability.
Adjust pricing strategies based on data insights and market conditions.
Manage membership availability, optimizing capacity for both recurring members and new guests.
Use operational data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
To Succeed in This Role, You Should Have
7+ years of operations management experience, preferably in hospitality, leisure, or service industries.
Proven track record in managing both people and systems.
Strong analytical skills and experience with operational data.
Experience in scheduling, HR processes, and training programs.
A hands-on mindset — willing to jump in when needed.
Excellent communication skills in Norwegian and English.
Comfort with digital tools and booking platforms.
Experience working with maritime operations is a plus.
We’re Looking for Someone Who
Thrives in dynamic environments and embraces change.
Balances structure with creativity in problem-solving.
Leads with empathy but also drives accountability.
Has a high work ethic and ambition for personal and company growth.
Enjoys the mix of office-based planning and hands-on operational presence.
Is solution focused and has a can do attitude that inspires and empowers others.
We Offer
A 100% permanent position with a competitive salary
A role that blends strategic leadership with on-the-ground impact
Great offices in central Oslo
Staff discount on our floating saunas (hot!)
A chance to shape the operations of one of Oslo’s most exciting growth companies - and prepare us for international expansion
We are looking to fill this role as soon as possible and will take interviews starting on the 15th of September. The process is created to give all candidates a fair and equal opportunity.
If you’re ready to help build the systems, team, and culture that will bring KOK’s sauna experiences to the world, we’d love to hear from you.
