East Side Technology provides technical solutions for the entertainment industry. One of our current projects involves the development of machinery for three-dimensional motion of film and video cameras. With the help of winches, cameras are flown over the audience at concerts and other cultural events. The same technology is used to move scenery, fly performers, and create stunts. Our market is international and includes theaters, venues, and suppliers of advanced machinery that serve films, shows, and other parts of the entertainment industry.

We are looking for a programmer to take an active part in development and maintenance of our control system and related projects.

Applicants should have experience in several of the following areas:

• C++

• C#

• VB

• WPF

• Linux

• Beckhoff Twincat 3 c++

• Beckhoff Twincat 3 functional safety

• Kinematics

• Basic mathematics

• Linear algebra (with respect to coordinate transformations)

• Functional safety based on EN 61508

Written documentation of our systems for the user and for safety certification is an important part of the project. The applicant must be able to write clear and correct English.

EST is a small company undergoing a generational change, and we are seeking someone ready to take an active role in the company’s future. 

The place of work is Oslo, while some remote work will be necessary in the beginning.  International travel to support our customers may be required.
