CBRE also provides project management and consulting related to the operation, development, and management of properties.
For our CBRE Data Centre Solutions department, which operates locations with critical installations, we are now looking for a skilled technician with supervision experience to participate in daily monitoring and maintenance tasks and supervision of technical operation 24/7 team.
About the Position and Responsibilities
In collaboration with subcontractors and the Critical Facility Manager, we handle all technical operations for one of our clients in Skien.
The main purpose of this role is to support the daily MRO activities (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul) for our on-site data center, with a focus on mechanical and electrical operations.
Your responsibilities:
Supervise preventive maintenance and repair of critical technical assets
Comply with internal and external training programs
Internal technical team supervision and performance management
Personnel Management
Plan installations, maintenance, and repair electrical/mechanical systems
Modify electrical wiring systems if any changes happen
Monitor critical process services using a CMMS system
Process and close customer service orders in accordance with service level agreements
Ensure systems operate correctly and efficiently BMS/PMS
Support and accompany subcontractors in performing activities, considering customer agreements and CBRE’s safety and risk mitigation measures
Conduct daily rounds and inspections
Identify potential risks to the intended process or work safety
Provide leadership support in all areas
Compliance and Reporting
You will be part of a competent technical team working in building and critical facility services – primarily electrical, cooling, and backup power systems. High standards for quality and documentation require detailed planning before work execution and complete documentation afterward. We continuously focus on developing and improving the client’s technical facilities, so technology, collaboration, and communication are always central.
Your qualifications:
To succeed in this role, we envision that you have a technical education as an electrician, installer, or similar. You must have broad technical knowledge, be willing to continue learning and developing, and share your experiences. You should have good IT skills, be proficient in MS Office, and easily learn new systems.
We also imagine you have:
Completed vocational training/apprenticeship with an electrical focus (e.g., electronics technician, electrical engineer) with sufficient professional experience in the above key areas, preferably in data centers or other critical environments such as manufacturing or oil and gas
Experience handling cooling and HVAC systems
Knowledge of using a CMMS system
PLC knowledge is an advantage
Ability to recognize complex technical conditions
Strong service orientation and ability to work in a team
Confident use of MS Office
Good English skills, both written and spoken
Responsibility and quality awareness with a high degree of integrity
Proactive and assertive
Good at handling change and seeing new opportunities
Professional demeanor when interacting with customers, subcontractors, and colleagues, as well as in your tasks
A team player with a good sense of humor
It is an advantage if you have experience in one or more of the following fields:
Refrigeration technician
Mechanics / Industrial mechanic / Industrial fitter or similar
Electrical (Group H and/or L)
Plumber
Process industry
