Are you our life saving Senior Geodata Consultant?
Have you ever felt lost at sea? When you hear the waves coming, but can’t see them until they wash over you? The feeling of being blind, not knowing where you are and where you’re heading?
At Electronic Chart Centre AS (ECC AS) we develop and innovate flexible and efficient charts and maps solutions to ensure that people are never lost. Our vision is to contribute to greater safety and security, lower costs, and enhanced efficiency at sea, air and land.
Do you want to contribute to make sure people always find their way home?
As our Senior Geodata Consultant, you will lead and participate in projects and international meetings. You will also be responsible for validating the new S-100 product series (such as S-101, S-102, S-104, S-111, etc.) upon their delivery to PRIMAR. You will also test internally developed ECC tools, help implement the new S-100 standard and support the Dual Fuel service, along with many other exciting projects.
You will have the unique chance to participate in our ongoing S-100 development. A strong understanding of the S-100 standard and product specifications based on the S-100 standard included in the first phase of implementation - such as S-101 (Electronic Navigational Chart), S-102 (Bathymetric Surface), S-104 (Water Level Information for Surface Navigation), S-111 (Surface Currents) - is therefore essential. A key part of your role will be to deliver training sessions on S-100 for PRIMAR member states and other partner organisations. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining PRIMAR’s online S-100 training courses. Familiarity with LearnWorlds or similar e-learning platforms will be considered an advantage.
In ECC, you will have the opportunity to develop your role, with many other possibilities within projects and tasks in the future.
As we work internationally, many of our projects involve corresponding with Hydrographic Offices and other Governmental organizations within Europe and other parts of the world.
So, who are you, and can we work together to make sure everyone finds their way?
We would like you to have experience in project management and a minimum of 5 years experience in production and quality control of nautical charts/ENCs. A good knowledge of S-100 and S-100 product specifications is essential. We also expect that you have S-57 knowledge.
Flexibility and collaborativeness are important to us, and so are strong communication skills.
It would be advantageous if you also have experience in some of the following tools: dKart Inspector tool, 7Cs Analyzer tool, Caris production or similar, S-57/S-58 standards. Any experience in use of ECDIS systems for navigation will also be very positive.
Our working languages are Norwegian and English, you will need to master at least one of these languages.
As ECC / PRIMAR operates in an international context, you can expect occasional travel abroad for meetings, training workshops, and other collaborative activities.
