We are now looking for a System Operations Engineer to strengthen our Team. As a System Operation Engineer you will cover the activities involved in both IS-IT and in system operation.

The System Operations Engineer will have the following key responsibilities:
Performs system monitoring in operations, proactively reacts on operational problems and contributes to improve the system operation
Performs incident detection, management and response activities and act as a 1st and 2nd Line support
Be the point of contact for all service-related topics regarding the system
Ensure customer communication via ticketing tool
Be part of developing solutions and countermeasures, neutralize and rectify reported faults, as well as planning the technical and content-related coordination of the solution
Be a contact point for development and engineering teams, continuously align activities to support system improvements
Trigger and follow-up the root cause analysis and find solutions through cross-departmental cooperation with development, cyber security, etc.
Execute scheduled changes (e.g. deployments, upgrades)
Be able to configure and prepare network equipment spare parts like firewall and switches
Communicate with and create support tickets to 3rd party supplier for network and server equipment
Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures, complies with legal regulation and cyber security
Update and further develop of the knowledge database and regularly share within the team
Possible participation in a 24/7 service desk duty as Single Point of Contact for our customer approximately once every 5-6 weeks
To be qualified for either of these roles, you need to have the following qualifications and experience:
Good Linux system administration and optimization knowledge
Degree in IT, Engineering, Computer Science or similar
Min. 2 years’ experience in cloud operation
Extensive knowledge within cloud monitoring, troubleshooting and corrective actions – for instance Grafana, Elasticsearch and Prometheus
Knowledge of IT infrastructure HW and installation (OS, image, firmware)
Experience with container environments such as Docker and Kubernetes
Experience with zero-downtime deployment of web applications
Experience working with cloud providers
Experienced with asset and user management
Fluent in Norwegian and English
Please also note that this position may require formal security clearance in accordance with the Norwegian Security Act (sikkerhetsloven).

Experience using relational databases (e.g., MSSQL, postgres)
Familiar with ITIL processes landscape would be a benefit
