Role Summary and Purpose
This position ensures that the company operates at the highest standards of safety and security in compliance with all national and international regulations that apply to Thor Medical's production.
The safety and security manager will lead the work for company-wide management of all issues pertaining to safety, security and safeguards of nuclear/radiological material and hazardous chemicals, both during production and during transport. The manager will further assist in other tasks related to governance in the HSEQ department.
Key Responsibilities
Risk assessment and preparedness
· Perform regular risk assessment and security risk analysis for all aspects of Thor medical’s production.
· Ensure implementation of necessary protective actions to reduce risks.
· Prepare plans to mitigate impacts, should incidents occur.
· Engage with external actors to prepare for efficient emergency preparedness and response.
· Engage with external actors to improve on safety and security when needed.
· Foster a common safety and security culture, shared by all employees.
Regulatory Compliance
· Prepare necessary applications to authorities regulating safety and security to obtain authorizations, permits and, where applicable, licenses for current and future production sites.
· Be updated on all relevant national regulations for nuclear/radiological safety, security and safeguards.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of international requirements and conventions for nuclear and radiological material.
· Be updated on all relevant national regulations regarding safety and security of hazardous chemicals.
· Prepare regular reports to authorities.
· Act as TMs safeguards responsible person, including accountancy of all nuclear material.
· Prepare necessary documents for safe transport of products to customers.
· Prepare necessary declarations and transport documents for shipment of radioactive waste.
Governance
· Assist the EVP HSEQ in the liaison with regulatory bodies for all nuclear and radiological issues.
· Assist in applying for authorizations and permits according to radiation protection regulations.
· Contribute to annual reporting to regulatory bodies.
· Liaise with other employees in production and HSEQ to ensure safety and security measures are aligned with the requirements for high quality products for cancer treatment.
Qualifications and Competencies
· Proven experience in executing safety and security work.
· Extensive knowledge of nuclear and radiation protection legislation.
· Experience in the process of authorizations, permits and licenses.
· Ability to act as a change agent and influence organizational behavior through effective interactions.
· Master’s degree in a relevant field such as safety management, risk analysis, radiation science or a related discipline.
· High attention to detail with a focus on accountability and measurable outcomes.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
