IT/AV Technician

The Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented IT/AV Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining audio-visual equipment for our extensive conference facilities. Your expertise will ensure that all events run smoothly and provide a high-quality experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities of the IT/AV Technician:

• Set up and operate audio-visual equipment for conferences, meetings, and events.

• Collaborate with event planners and clients to understand their AV requirements and provide tailored solutions.

• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of AV equipment to ensure optimal performance.

• Assist in the design and layout of AV systems for various event configurations.

• Monitor and manage sound and lighting during events to ensure high-quality presentations.

• Provide technical support to clients and guests, addressing any issues that arise promptly and professionally.

• Maintain inventory of AV equipment and assist with ordering and procurement as needed.

• Stay updated on the latest AV technologies and trends to recommend improvements and upgrades.

• Works as part of a team that maximizes guest satisfaction and comfort, delivering a positive and timely response to guest enquiries

• Takes responsibility for the duties and tasks assigned to the role, ensuring that all work is carried out in a timely and professional manner

• Delivers on departmental plans and objectives, where hotel initiatives & targets are achieved

• Collaborates with their immediate report, ensuring that costs and inventory are controlled, that productivity and performance levels are attained

• Ensures adherence and compliance to all legislation where due diligence requirements and best practice activities are planned, delivered and documented for internal and external audit, performing follow-up as required

• Supports the smooth running of the property maintenance department, where all areas are maintained to the highest levels.

• Utilize basic IT knowledge to assist with network setup and troubleshooting, ensuring seamless connectivity for presentations and events.

Requirements of the AV/IT Technician:

• Proven experience as an AV Technician or in a similar role, preferably in a hotel or conference center setting.

• Strong knowledge of audio, video, and lighting systems.

• Familiarity with various AV equipment brands and technologies.

• Basic IT knowledge, including understanding of network setups and troubleshooting.

• Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.

• Hands-on approach with a can-do work style

• Commitment to delivering exceptional guest service with a passion for the hospitality industry

• Ability to find creative solutions taking ownership for duties and tasks assigned

• Personal integrity, with the ability to work in an environment that demands excellence

• Experience of working with IT systems on various platforms
