Senior Consultant, storage

Our client is a leading global oil services company that provides engineering services, technologies, product solutions and field-life solutions for the oil and gas industry. They have an aggregated annual revenue of approximately NOK 35 billion and employs approximately 17 000 people in about 30 countries.
Core Infrastructure Services is based in Norway, UK, US and India. They design, build and develop IT infrastructure Services. They need experienced engineers who can strengthen our team and support our ambitious growth plans. They looking for a Senior Consultant within the Storage, Backup and Archiving area.

Tasks

• In near future, be able to take on an Architect role within the storage area.
• Service development and roadmap planning.
• Improve and develop storage solutions.
• Participation in projects.
• Running and maintaining storage, backup and archiving systems.
• Tuning and monitoring.
• Fault finding and issue handling.
• Third line support on selected products / areas
  

Qualifications

• The ability to see the big lines within the storage area.
• Mid-range and High-end SAN storage platforms.
• Email- and file archiving.
• Backup technologies like Networker, Avamar or similar.
• VM Ware ESX Virtual Environment.
• Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 Server/Clustering.
• ITIL and PEM project execution experience.
• Education: University degree (Master or Bachelor). Long work experience may compensate for lack of formal education.
• Ability to work independently, able to demonstrate continuous professional development, motivated, eager to learn and ability to adapt.
• Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
