Seize the opportunity to join Aker BP and play a key role in shaping our industry-leading Subsurface community as our new Geophysicist. We're looking for a proactive, collaborative candidate who eagerly seeks input from colleagues, bringing enthusiasm to Aker BP's Improvement agenda in the use of new technology, digitalisation, and new ways of working. The role will be in Exploration, Reservoir development or CCS depending on the qualifications and interests of the applicant. Candidates with a strong background in quantitative geophysics are encouraged to apply.
Typical work tasks can be:
- Coordination and execution of geophysical work activities in projects across exploration, development and production.
- Support planning and execution of geophysical acquisition and processing.
- Seismic AVO, quantitative seismic reservoir characterization and monitoring.
- Seismic interpretation, prospect definition and evaluation, volume and risk assessment.
- Provide and maintain inputs to asset reservoir models.
- Coach and mentor junior staff in best practice seismic interpretation and analysis.
- Engaged contributor to the Geophysics network.
- Ensure that all work, tasks and projects are carried out to achieve the overall objectives. These include HSSE, technical integrity, compliance and cost.
Skills and qualifications:
- MSc/PhD within relevant subjects of geophysics/geoscience.
- Minimum 5-7 years or more of relevant recent experience in exploration and/or reservoir development.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant interpretation and seismic analysis methods and implementations.
- Background and experience within seismic acquisition, processing, quantitative geophysics, and shallow hazards is an advantage.
- Modern data science applications.
