We are looking for a new member to our skilled Survey Team to build up our presence in Bergen.

Wesmans’ Survey Team provides marine-, cargo- & transport liability surveys for our clients within the logistics-, transport- and marine- & cargo insurance industry.

Our surveyors provide Cargo-, Pre-Shipment-, Condition-, Loading and Lashing surveys, Heavy-lift operations and preparation of transport manuals/procedures, lashing and securing arrangements and various training courses to Insurance companies, Logistics providers, Shipping companies, Manufacturing industry, Oil and gas industry, Ports and terminals and Authorities

The vacant positions for Marine & Cargo Surveyor includes both Marine and non-Marine Cargo Surveys.

The role also includes building up our presence in Bergen. Therefore, we believe that you are an independent individual with the ability to create contacts and build networks. We also believe you have an entrepreneurial spirit with a strong operational background from the Marine Industry.

Required skills and capabilities:

-    Knowledge of and an interest to develop within the Marine Insurance Industry.

-         At least four years’ experience working within the maritime, transport and/or logistic

sector.

-         Technical understanding.

-         Accurate and efficient.

-         Service minded.

-         Structured and efficient as a person and with good administrative skills.

-         Clear communication and language skills in both Norwegian or another Scandinavian

language and English, both orally and in writing. Other languages can be an asset

-         Willingness to always learn and share knowledge with colleagues and clients.

-         Deck / Engine officer or technical background with documented experience in similar

positions may compensate for formal education.

-         Ready for extensive travel activities and willing to travel on short notice.

-         Valid Driving license

-         Proactive and self-driven

Preferred skills:

-         Commercial understanding of the market, the industry and customers in the region

-         Consultative selling skills and business case orientation

-         Well organised with the ability to plan and manage own workload

Key responsibilities:

-         Attend surveys throughout Norway and sometimes abroad.

-         Liaise with Principals and timely reporting.

-         Be a team player working closely with all Wesmans departments in Norway and

abroad.

-         Identify and coordinate pursuit of new sources of potential business

-         Participate in commercial meetings when needed
