Operations Manager / Assistant Operations Manager

Main duties and responsibilities

• Responsible for operational follow-up of contracts and spot fixtures
• Follow-up of environmental performances and relevant regulations and company procedures
• Assessing and handling of performance reviews and claims
• Daily commercial operation of the vessels
• Support and provide Master with all data relevant to the voyages and cargoes
• Actively coordinate information between internal departments, vessels and customers
• Handle relevant operational matters with Master and visit vessels when convenient

Some domestic and international travelling must be expected.

Preferred qualifications and skills

• Relevant master’s degree or bachelor’s degree / Alternatively relevant seagoing experience
• Strong interest in shipping with an ambition to develop understanding and competence of the maritime industry
• Commercial understanding and a hands-on approach to operations of vessels
• Specific job training will be given.

Required personal qualities

• Team oriented with ability to work across business units and cultures
• Well-developed cooperative skills with internal departments, towards customers and vessel management
• Fluent in Norwegian and English
