Now we explore opportunities in the aftermarket for renewables, to deliver offshore maintenance for the renewable sector when the market is ready. Aker Solutions is looking for an Instrument Engineer with experience in onshore or offshore projects. The project is based in Trondheim and will be led from there.
Position Responsibilities:
- Oversee Instrument Procurement Packages.
- Collaborate with suppliers and review documents and drawings.
- Provide engineering insights for job packages.
- Document as-builts of supplier drawings and incorporate red line mark-ups received from offshore.
- Report all significant matters to the Discipline Lead and Engineering Manager.
- Ensure quality and compliance with Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) standards within assigned projects.
- Identify changes and contribute to change requests.
- Conduct offshore surveys involving field instrument engineering, system engineering, automation and control engineering, Fire & Gas systems engineering, layout design, cable dimensioning, and calculations, field instrumentation and valves.
- Manage technical procurement activities related to mechanical packages (as PRD), prepare Material Take-Offs (MTOs) and requisitions, and create installation job-cards.
- Collaborate and coordinate with suppliers and clients.
- Provide support for other tasks as required.
Skills and Levels Description:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Good knowledge of offshore EIT installations and associated requirements.
- Strong experience in supplier coordination and follow-up.
- Proficiency in creating as-builts of tags and drawings.
- Ability to perform estimation work and plan activities efficiently.
- Fluency in both written and oral English.
- Relevant education within instrument engineering, such as an Associate Degree, Vocational School certification, Bachelor's, or Master's degree.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software and tools.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong team player.
- Preferred previous experience from Aker Solutions.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining quality, safety, and compliance standards.
