We are looking for extraordinary individuals to join us on our mission to digitalize these industries, and to support our growth globally we are looking for a Finance Director. The open position is within our Maritime Simulation business unit, headquartered in Horten, Norway. The unit consists of approx. 170 employees developing, selling and implementing market-leading simulation technology used for training and research in the maritime-, offshore- and defence industries worldwide.

As our Finance Director you will be tasked with helping to drive further business growth and development. You will be closely linked to our commercial and operations activities with significant opportunity to drive change and deliver value via effective and impactful business partnering. You will manage a finance team and have the overall responsibility to lead, develop and improve financial process and controls. You will ensure full visibility of the units overall financial health.

Responsibilities

• P&L responsibility and leadership over a team covering reporting, accounting, and controlling.
• Proactively analyse value creation/profitability and financial performance across product lines, communicate findings and challenge relevant stakeholders.
• Partner up with management team to shape commercial and operations forecast, budget, and strategy. Act as a trusted adviser on commercial transactions, bid and tender team participation. Develop business cases and investment analyses for decision support.
• Lead the forecast and budget process, overall cost allocations and investment strategy and collaborate with all parts of the organization including finance directors from other entities.
• Manage and mentor the finance team, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Identify areas of improvements, develop, and execute actions plans.
• Responsible for the monthly reports on operations, financial performance, risks & KPI’s etc. including deviation analysis.
• Create a culture of cooperation and common goals, focusing on shared success as a team.

Required skills and qualifications

• A master’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting or related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (consulting, finance, business controlling or similar).
• Excellent communication skills, orally and written, in both Norwegian and English is a prerequisite.
• Experience of leading a team to ensure day to day delivery of budget commitments, KPI analysis including turning insights into action.
• Passionate team player and leader.
• Self-driven and result oriented.
• Ability to think strategically and work with details.
• Flexible and solution oriented.
• Ability to communicate complex topics clearly and efficiently.
• Commercial mindset combined with strong analytical skills.
• Good understanding of finance systems.
• High proficiency in Excel.
