Electrical and Automation Design Manager

IKM Rada is searching for an experienced Electrical and Automation Design Manager for the engineering team on behalf of our client: Sotra Link Construction JV. If you are experienced with similar roles from tunnel and roads/infrastructue projects in Norway, this might be the right role for you. This is a great opportunity to become a important part of the largest infrastructure contract in the Norwegian history. 

Job description

• Ensure the development of design products in accordance with design and construction schedule 
• Overseeing the design process using technical expertise. Review and control the conformance of the design products to quality standards and safety concepts.  
• Discuss any risk factors, conflicts of interest and opportunities for improvement with technical director CJV.  
• Conduct regular design meetings with the design team. Coordinate the design with Construction needs, means and schedule. Overview interdisciplinary coordination and interface aspects  
• Reviewing designs with health and safety in mind. 
• Ensure ongoing quality management, project management and document management in the design assignment.  
• Working with clients to ensure that their expectations are met.  
• Ensure that all the information the design teams need to carry out the detailed design in a good way is available.

Qualifications and work experience

• Technical Degree (Engineering / Civil / Environmental or equivalent)
• Experience in Norway in the same or similar position is highly recommended
• Familiarity with the following codes and specifications; NEK 600 Electro and telecommunications in the road traffic systems, and NEK 400 Low-voltage electrical installations
• General Electromechanical Knowledge: Electrical LV and lighting, UPS/ emergency power supply, SCADA system, CCTV, Communication networks (FO transmission networks; radio networks)
• In-depth knowledge of construction techniques and methodologies
• Project Management Methodologies
• In-depth knowledge of Plants and Machines
• Good knowledge of design principles, analysys and development
