Environmental Supervisor

IKM Rada is searching for Environmental Supervisor for the Environmental Department in Sotra Link Construction JV. Job description

The environmental department in Sotra Link Consturction JV handles all environmental aspects of the constrution project. This includes, among others: 

• Monthly report data compilation and reporting
• Ensure that the design and operation of the project is in accordance with all applicable regulations, standards and permits
• Training and information for all staff including subcontractors (Environmental training, Environmental Induction, Toolbox talks, etc )
• Preparation and update of environmental risk assessments with belonging risk-reducing measures
• Ensure Environmental Plans compliance at site
• Follow up construction work in the field
• Follow-up of deviations related to environment
• Perform site environmental inpections and audits and produce respective reports
• Carry out required environmental monitoring (Air quality, Water Quality, Noise, Soil, etc)
• Environmental permit applications coordination and follow up its compliance

The environmental department is doing all the environmental related planning, monitoring and reporting in close cooperation with the rest of the project teams. This includes development of procedures and instructions for environmental supervision and plan inspections. 

Sotra Link Construction JV is working under a Design and Build Contract, meaning that they must handle all aspects of the work including the environment. 

The Environmental Supervisor will have the possibility to be involved in all parts of practical environmental work from planning and design on the desk over obtaining opproval from authority and client to execution, documentation and supervision in the field. 

The Environmental Supervisor will be reporting to the Environmental Manager. The Environmental Supervisor is expected to work independently and be ready to handle many different environmental problems in a systematic way. Also building relations with colleagues inside and outside the organization is important. 

Qualifications and work experience

• Relevant education (Env. Engineer, Cand. Scient, Env. Technician or similar)
• 1+ years in the role of Environmental management of complex infrastructural works
• Experience with Norwegian Environmental Legislation, regulations and practices
• Internal Auditor ISO 14001
• In-depth knowledge of risk assessment issues
• Incident investigation techniques (ie Tap report)
• Norwegian - oral and written
• English fluent - oral and written
