Quality Control Engineer for Sweet Protection
Sweet Protection blends industry-leading innovation with the finest craftsmanship available to create the safest and most advanced helmets, goggles, protective gear and apparel. Distribution is strongest in Scandinavia, Europe and North America through retailers and own controlled ecommerce. The brand is currently under strong growth and we are looking for a resilient and practical team player with good communication and visualization skills to transition products into production.
The Quality Control Engineer in Sweet Protection will be part of the Hardware Production team working with testing and quality control of our products and improving production processes.
Main tasks
- Be the interface facilitating dialogue and the exchange of information between the design office and production
- Create and keep track of BOM for all new models throughout the development process and through the product lifecycle.
- Follow up on sample production and sign off samples.
- Review new products and implement Quality Control (QC) points and work instructions.
- Follow up QC point and work instruction first off line production.
- Follow up on production of new products to see whether improvements need to be made to either the process, assembly tools/jigs or design revisions to the actual components/product.
- Factory visits
Minimum qualifications:
- Background from Industrial Design or Production Engineering
- Some experience with CAD system.
- Familiar with design for manufacturability and transition from design to production
- Relevant education is a plus, but can be compensated by relevant work experience
- English fluency (written and oral)
Preferred qualifications and mindset:
- Significant attention to detail
- Good sketching and visualizing skills
- Ability to clearly communicate and collaborate with vendors to develop and improve products and production process.
- Ability to work independently as well as work well within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Basic knowledge of mechanisms, plastic injection moulded components and machined components
- Knowledge of MS Office
The position is located in Oslo/ Trysil and reports to the Production Manager responsible for Hardware. The position will require travelling for collaboration between Oslo and Trysil offices, and for hands on follow-up at factories.
