Commercial Claims Analyst

The position

By joining our team in Marketing, Midstream & Processing you will have the opportunity to:

• Take responsibility for Shipping claims across Crude, Refined products, LPG including cargo insurance claims. 

• Take responsibility for interim port claims and bunker discrepancy claims.

• Prepare cases for legal and insurance handling. 

• Work independently and proactively with a focus on maximizing the value of Equinor’s portfolio of claims.

• Issue claims in accordance with Equinor’s processes and procedures and ensuring that Equinor protects and recovers value that it is properly entitled to.

• Provide advice, give feedback and report to commercial teams on demurrage and general claims.

• The position includes extensive communication with internal and external stakeholders such as counterparties, shipping, lawyers and internal value chain.

• The candidate is expected to work independently and proactively with a focus on maximizing the value of Equinor’s portfolio of claims.

• Bachelor or Master’s degree, or relevant background in Business/Economics or Marine engineering.

• Background in shipping and/or claims preferred.

• Ability to work both independently and as a team.

• Commercial mindset – structured and result oriented.

• Excellent communication skills, with ability to converse at all levels within the organization.

• Ability to interact effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

• Fluent written and oral presentation skills in English.
