Hydrogen technology research scientists

We are rapidly expanding our hydrogen activities and are looking for new research scientists to strengthen our hydrogen research team. We are especially looking to strengthen our research activities in the area of low temperature fuel cells and electrolyzers.

 

Job description and content

As a member of our highly skilled Hydrogen Technologies group, you will contribute to the development of next generation hydrogen technologies. You will have extensive contact with the hydrogen R&D community and industry in Norway and abroad.

Depending on your education and experience, you are expected to play a significant role in SINTEF's hydrogen activities. You will participate in the establishment and execution of research projects related to the design and characterization of materials used in next generation fuel cell and electrolyzer technologies, as well as operating fuel cell and electrolyzer test stations. Experienced researchers will have responsibilities developing customer relations and project management.

You will be given a large degree of responsibility and liberty to follow your own path. SINTEF places high demands on scientific and financial results, whilst at the same time providing for and facilitating your personal development.

 

Qualifications

We are considering candidates with the following qualities:

• Master's or PhD degree or similar experience in a relevant area like electrochemistry, chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, materials science, or mathematics
• Experience in the field of hydrogen with a good understanding of hydrogen fuel cells and electrolyzers

The ideal candidate should have relevant competence or experience in electrochemical characterization techniques such as electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, cyclic/linear sweep voltammetry, rotating disk electrode, etc.

Your excellent scientific and analytical skills and ability to work systematically will help you succeed in SINTEF. You have good interpersonal skills and are proactive. Furthermore, you are customer and solution oriented, and you take initiative. You enjoy working independently as well as in a team.

The position requires good communication skills in English, both oral and written. A working knowledge of Norwegian is beneficial, but not required.
