Job Description:

As an Application Engineer in the development board team, you will become an expert in Microchip's 8-bit Microcontrollers and toolchain for AVR and PIC. You will be involved in every aspect of design and release of development boards for Microchip's new 8-bit microcontrollers; specification, hardware design (PCB), verification, manufacturing tests, documentation, integration with software ecosystems to make it as easy as possible for Microchip's customers to use our microcontroller products.

In your role, you will:

· Collaborate with the worldwide Microchip team.

· Develop hardware that demonstrates Microchip products functionality,

performance, competitive advantage, and ease of use.

· Design hardware for manufacturing (schematics and layout) with

Altium Designer.

· Verify hardware (embedded software and lab measurements).

· Develop automated test procedures and test equipment for turnkey

manufacturing (embedded and PC software).

· Industrialize products, manage revisions, and interface with manufacturing

through product lifecycle systems.

· Work with version control systems like git and Agile tools such as JIRA

and Confluence.

· Write documentation for development boards.

· Write application notes that describe concepts and usage of Microchip's

technology in end user applications.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Education

B.Sc., M.Sc. in either

• Electronics
• Cybernetics
• Computer Science (with focus on embedded, or with electronics as a hobby)
• or other technical studies with electronics as a hobby

English -- both written and oral

Core Skills

• Digital and analog schematics and PCB design
• Some lab experience -- oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, etc.
• Experience with computer/embedded programming (C and Python)
