Mechanical Engineer - Product Developer

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer

We are extending our Flokk, looking for an experienced mechanical engineer in the role of Product Developer. Your principal tasks will be to develop and industrialize product solutions within office furniture. You will be part of one of the three multidisciplinary development teams that make up Flokk Design, New product Development, Oslo. Your teammates will consist of mechanical engineers and industrial designers, working closely together to realize a broad portfolio of development projects.

In Flokk we develop our products from the ground up. Additionally, we produce, market, and distribute our own products. This means we have a complete value chain within product development - From product portfolio management, idea- and concept generation, collaboration with external designers, detailed design, and engineering, branding and market communication, sales, and distribution. The products are developed to fit into the product portfolios of the Flokk brands, produced in our own factories in Scandinavia and continental Europe, for global distribution.

Responsibilities, tasks, and activities:

• Development of new products, re-design, and upgrades of existing models. Focusing on mechanical product architecture, mechanical functionality, overall and detailed engineering for high volume production.
• Contributions in the development processes, from concept development, overall mechanical design, prototyping and testing, engineering, and industrialization.
• 3D & 2D CAD of mechanical solutions and individual components in cast and extruded aluminium, injection molded thermoplastics, PUR foam, metal shaping and welding.
• CAD of product assemblies and configurations. Modelled to illustrate dynamic motion and product adjustments.
• CAD hybrid modelling, combining solids and complex surfaces.
• Basic FEM calculations, using SolidWorks capabilities.
• Building & testing of mechanical prototypes of the solutions we develop.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
• MSc in the field of mechanical engineering.
• Solid experience in parametric 3D modelling of complex components and assemblies.
• Experience with molded components (cast aluminium/thermoplastics/other).
• Proficient in one of the Nordic languages. Fluent in English language. Both written and spoken.
