In August 2022, Aker Solutions entered into an agreement with SLB and Subsea 7 to form a new joint venture for subsea bringing subsea experts to deliver complete subsea and deep-water engineering solutions for the energy industry. The three companies will bring invaluable technical competence, geographical presence, robust portfolio and backlog projects, and skilled personnel with segment expertise to this agreement. This subsea integrated services venture will position itself to be a tier 1 company in the industry.
The joint venture to come into effect in the second half of 2023 is subject to approval by the respective authorities of the concerned countries.
We are now looking for a Specialist System Engineer who wants to strengthen our team. We are a diverse, friendly, and proactive team with the responsibility of executing integrated System solutions in accordance with Aker Solutions Subsea Project Execution Model. We are a global team of system engineers across several regions / countries.
What will you be doing?
- As a Specialist System Engineer, you will lead the integrated system engineering team, and perform system engineering tasks within unique subsea projects
- Responsible for defining system architecture and the system design basis, test philosophies and outline test program
- Review and Approve system schematics and P&IDs and test procedures
- Check and approve project design philosophies and system analyses
- Oversee project scope management system
- Provide clear design directions and instructions to application, product and life-of-field engineers
- Drive technical solutions to project management and other more senior stakeholders
- Guide, supervise and train less experienced system engineers
- Interact directly with client’s technical representatives related to deliveries
- Deliveries have defined deadlines so own, and others’, workload should be managed to meet those
- Role is multi-discipline, covering a wide range of technical areas
- Drive technical process and efficient way of working
We think you should have:
- BSc or MSc in an engineering discipline
- 12+ years engineering experience in a subsea environment
- INCOSE certification for System Engineering beneficial or relevant system engineering experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is mandatory
Personal attributes: - Demonstrate a proactive and innovative attitude with structured and solution-oriented mindset and excellent communication skills
- High interest in expanding own knowledge building internal network and understanding AKSO’s engineering processes
- Demonstrate ability to work in global teams and have an international mentality
