Sanctions & Anti-Money Laundering Specialist
Norwegian Hull Club - a recognised leader in global marine and offshore energy insurance – is looking for the right person to join our Legal team as a Sanctions & Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Specialist.
This position is based at our head office in Bergen, Norway. What you’ll be doing
Norwegian Hull Club conducts its business and operations with the greatest integrity and to the highest ethical standards. These elements are embraced by the entire organisation. ‘Integrity’ is also one of the core values of the company.Now, due to increased activity in relation to sanctions and AML due diligence, as well as our usual strong focus on regulatory compliance, we are seeking a specialist in these areas to further strengthen our team.
Main responsibilities and tasks
The successful candidate will further safeguard that the integrity and highest ethical standards employed by The Club are maintained by:
- Performing client sanctions and AML due diligence analysis in accordance with established procedures;
- Undertaking sanctions screenings and checks;
- Supporting internal stakeholders with their sanctions and AML-related questions;
- Reviewing system-generated compliance warnings;
- Staying updated on relevant sanctions and AML regulations;
- Contributing to regular procedure reviews;
- Assisting with other sanctions and AML-related matters;
- Participating in internal development projects.
Qualifications and preferred qualities
Our preferred candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher, as well as a genuine interest in sanctions and AML compliance. They will also be able to demonstrate at least two years’ professional experience with ‘Know Your Customer’, sanctions and/or AML matters.
Given the international nature of our business, fluency in Norwegian and English, both written and oral, is a must.
We are looking for someone with an analytic and orderly mind who enjoys problem solving. Capable of working in a structured manner, you should also possess a keen eye for detail. Being a positive-minded team player who is able to work and collaborate across the entire organisation is also highly desirable. We also value someone with a pro-active approach, able to work independently when required.
