Graduate 2024 – Measurement Technology

The programme lasts for 2-years and includes rotations of 3-12 months across functions, business areas or locations.

The position

In Fiscal Metering & Allocation, our purpose is to ensure accurate measurements of oil, gas, and emissions from Equinor installations. As a graduate in this field, you'll play a vital role in employing specialized metering technologies such as single-phase flow metering, multiphase flow metering, control systems, sampling, and analysis. 

This is a highly technical and multidisciplinary realm, where you'll bring your skills in automation, instrumentation, physics, mathematics, fluid dynamics, process, chemistry, and subsea engineering to the forefront. Each day presents new operational challenges, resulting in a wide variety of tasks for our team. Continuous learning is a key aspect of our work. 

When working in Fiscal Metering & Allocation you can expect the following responsibilities and tasks: 

• Engage in rotations across different teams and disciplines to broaden your experience within Equinor. 
• Travel offshore to participate in audits, maintenance activities, and projects alongside authorities and partners. 
• Recommend metering solutions and provide technical guidance for new projects and modifications. 
• Offer engineering support to offshore operations, addressing technical challenges related to measurement equipment. 
• Utilize data analysis for early detection of measurement errors and contribute to condition-based maintenance. 

Our team ensures accurate measurements of all oil and gas sold from Equinor installations, securing compliance and the license to operate. We play a crucial role in measuring emissions, enabling Equinor to manage CO2 tax and climate quotas effectively. We also contribute to Hydrogen and CCS projects by measuring CO2 and hydrogen.

• Master’s degree or PhD with good academic record within Automation, Instrumentation, Physics, Process, Chemistry or related fields.  
• Completed degree by the year of starting (2024).
• Fluent in English.
• No more than two years of relevant fulltime work experience.
• Formal experience is not a requirement.
• Extracurricular activities and/or voluntary work is an advantage.
