HMI & SCADA Developer

We are searching for a motivated and skilled employee with a background in automation systems and SCADA development to join the Products & Engineering department. Our HMI system is used in all delivery projects and this role will be central in developing and improving the operator interface allowing users to control and monitor NEL’s product and processes. The location of the position is flexible but limited to the following locations: Kristiansand, Oslo, Notodden or Trondheim.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Continuous development and implementation of NEL SCADA design guidelines
• Improve and expand on our SCADA library
• Plan, develop and implement projects on:
  • Copadata Zenon Engineering Studio / Zenon Supervisor
  • Siemens Mindsphere
  • Siemens WinCC
• Optimization of existing control systems and HMI systems with Zenon HMI software
• Participate in the development of internal C# and .NET projects
• Create test procedures for SCADA components and projects and support QA activities related to SCADA systems
• Participate in research and implementation of bus communication with capacity for large amounts of data
• Create operator manuals for SCADA projects
• Support commissioning teams when needed
• Participate in safety and reliability studies regarding topics such as SCADA and user experience
• Support sales processes related to control systems and HMI systems

Key qualifications

• B.Sc. level, System, Controls/Automation, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a closely related field of study
• 2-5 years with project engineering experience, however, graduates are invited to apply and may be evaluated
• Experience with automation systems and SCADA development (required)
• Experience programming with C# in a .NET framework
• Experience or familiarity with the following technologies is preferred:
  • Zenon Engineering Studio / Zenon Supervisor
  • Siemens Mindsphere
  • Siemenes WinCC
  • OPC
  • Modern UI/UX guidelines and resources
  • WCAG 2.1
