Om arbeidsgiveren
The first national figure skating championship was held in 1894, and TSK's skaters were involved from the beginning. Johan Lefstad (the founder of Lefstad Sport) was the Norwegian champion from 1894 to 1900, and he was succeeded by his clubmate Oscar Holthe, who won the championships from 1901 to 1906. Our first national champion and world champion in long track speed skating was Peder Østlund, who became world champion in 1898. In "modern" times, the club has had great speed skaters like Magne Thomassen and Rolf Falk-Larssen. Figure skating was reintroduced as a competitive sport in 1978 when the Leangen facility was completed. The club built a new clubhouse at Leangen in 1988. The figure skating department now engages between 160 and 180 children and youth with its offerings.
The department offers a skating/training program in the form of a separate skating school for basic instruction, a youth group for those over 13 years old, cadet/apprentice programs focusing on fundamental skills and preparation for competitive figure skating, as well as programs for skaters in competitive classes.
