Job Description Summary
Responsible for programing a component, feature and or feature set. Works in a scrum team and contributes to the immediate team and to other teams GE Vingmed Ultrasound AS, a part of GE HealthCare, is a world leader in medical ultrasound imaging with main offices in Horten and satellite offices in Oslo and Trondheim. We are now seeking an intermediate to senior level C++ software developer to strengthen our Handheld Ultrasound R&D team. You will join a global team of highly motivated expert engineers with a focus on topics such as ultrasound data acquisition, signal and image processing and algorithm development. Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test and verify high-performance C++ quality software in the handheld medical ultrasound domain.
- Develop and implement complex image and/or signal processing algorithms, both improvements and new functionality
- Implement, test and verify front-end control software, including electronics setup (ASIC and off-the-self hardware)
- Leverage modern test-driven development (TDD) techniques to produce high quality C++ code with good unit, regression, and system test coverage.
- Apply refactoring techniques to improve the design, maintainability, and capabilities of the existing C++ code base.
- Work with product owners to understand product requirements & vision
- Drive world-class quality in the development and support of products
- Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques
Qualifications
- Holding a Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with advanced experience.
- Experience with modern C++, software architecture and SOLID design principles
Desired Technical Expertise
- Competency and interest in math and physics
- Experience with design and development of signal processing algorithms and filters
- Experience with cross-platform development (for macOS, iOS, Android, Windows).
- Experience with writing unit tests, TDD
- Experience with modern tools (Jira, Jenkins, Git, SVN)
- Aware of methods and practices such as Lean/Agile/XP, etc.
- Prior work experience in an agile environment, or introductory training on Lean/Agile.
