Vow Green Metals AS is building its first biocarbon production plant in Treklyngen Industripark (Follum) at Hønefoss. With a production capacity of 10.000 tons of biocarbon, the plant will be one of Europe's largest, and we are already planning for a second phase to double the capacity.
We are now looking for a Plant Manager with industrial experience who wants to be part of an exciting journey and are motivated by the opportunity to contribute to the green shift in a new sustainable industry.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation of the production plant, which will supply volumes of biocarbon at an industrial scale to the metallurgical industry. In addition, this will also be our competence center for testing and further development of an exciting product portfolio. In other words, there are great development opportunities for the right candidate.
The main product from the production plant is biocarbon, which will replace fossil-reduction materials in metal production. Elkem will be the main customer of the biocarbon produced, and the qualification process is already underway. In addition, the plant will produce bio-oil, which can replace fossil oil in many industries, and bioenergy that can be used in surrounding industries and to produce district heating.

Roles & Responsibility
- Oversee operations to ensure safety
- Manage plant operations
- Develop plans that help operations run smoothly
- Create and manage budgets
- Responsible for the plants P&L
- Responsible for all plant personnel
- Recruit and onboard new employees
- Collect and review data to reduce inefficiencies and waste
- Analyze data and create reports to present to executives regarding processes
- Oversee work schedules to ensure coverage
- Work closely with Vow Green Metals Corporate Management to develop the plant in line with corporate strategy visions and goals
The Plant Manager will oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed. Develop processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity.
Competence and qualifications
- BSc or MSc within technology e.g., chemical or mechanical engineering or similar.
Other relevant education or experience can replace this. - Five – ten years of experience from process industry is required
- Experience in leading successful interdisciplinary team(s)
- Experience in productions systems covering ISO 9001 / 14001, continuous improvement,
Norwegian legislation in regard to HSEQ, the Norwegian Working Environment Act etc. - Detailed knowledge of industrial operations
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Norwegian and English language
