One of our major clients within oil & gas has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Drafter/CAD Designer/Document Controller at Forus, Stavanger.

You will work to support the engineering department and report directly to the Engineering Manager. Your role will include interaction with other departments such as sales, supply chain and operations. You will utilise your knowledge and experience as an important member of a design team within the global engineering group. In this role, you will take ownership of drafting tasks, preparing engineering documentation and maintaining technical data (eg. Bill of Materials) in the PLM system (Product Lifecycle Management). The working environment is dynamic and fast paced.

Duties and responsibilities

• Preparation of engineering drawings and Bill of Materials
• Assist with engineering documentation and maintaining products in the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system while adhering to engineering processes
• Carry out various sustaining engineering tasks and ECRs (Engineering Change Requests)
• Take part in reviewing drawings and documentation
• Performing engineering testing of products and contribute in design review meetings
• Coordinate engineering activities with other departments
• Carry out other duties as may be reasonably expected by the role
• Travel is occasionally required as dictated by project needs

Qualifications

• Degree/Education in relevant field

Experience

• Min. 2 years of relevant experience
• Experience in CAD modelling and drafting using Solidworks
• Prior experience working with downhole oilfield equipment is an added advantage Skills, training or special knowledge

• Develop and adhere to drafting procedures and engineering processes
• Ability to write technical documents - Be able to multitask effectively
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and deliver on tight deadlines
• Be process oriented and pay attention to detail
• Knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter (PLM system) is an advantage
• Proficient in written and spoken English
