Job Description
PGS is looking for a Superintendent for our Maritime Department. This dynamic and demanding position offers responsibility for the long term management and overall responsible for day-to-day management of assigned vessels including Technical, Maintenance,HSEQ, Crewing, Flag, Class and Finance. You will work closely with Operation Supervisors and cross O&T units.
We are looking for a reliable self-starter with initiative and drive, who is comfortable managing his/her own projects and enjoys being part of a busy team.
Main Tasks:
• Responsible for effective and optimal maritime performance, and management of assigned vessels, as well as providing support to the organization in maritime related matters as assigned
• Operationally responsible for optimal maritime technical performance including leading development and execution of maintenance strategies (at sea, yard stays and pit-tops), on assigned vessels
• Operationally responsible for leading assigned maritime technical projects. Responsible for ensuring that assigned projects adhere to a high standard, are delivered as agreed, and that maritime support is provided to major upgrades, new builds, internal andexternal clients as required
• Operationally responsible for ensuring that assigned vessels have an effective and optimal maritime crew offshore at all times
Qualifications:
• University or College degree in maritime or technical discipline.
• Experience as Superintendent, Project Manager, Captain, Chief Engineer, 2nd Engineer, Electrician or Chief Officer.
• Other persons with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
Skills and Competencies
• Understands key concept of Ship Management
• Extensive knowledge of maritime regulatory rules and regulations
• Understanding of maritime onboard technical systems
• Skilled in the application of risk management in maritime operations and technology and able to efficiently manage these risks with HSEQ and financial risks
• Understanding of vessel lifecycle planning including 5-year plans, etc.
• Proven ability to manage financial issues and budgets
• Understands lSM, lSO, ISPS concepts and requirements
• Good verbal and written English communication skills
• Able to initiate continuous improvements that enhances processes, and adapts quickly to change
