Material/Inspection Engineer

Equinor is looking for experienced engineers to transform the Norwegian shelf and shape the future of energy.

Development and Production Norway (DPN) is, an operator and partner on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS); responsible for managing the NCS resources in a safe, efficient and sustainable manner; to create value for our owners, suppliers and the people of Norway. Equinor has today a solid position on the NCS. We have fields of all sizes, from giants such as Troll, Statfjord and Gullfaks, to small fast-track projects tied to existing infrastructure. Equinor’s ambition is to ensure at least 60% recovery from the NCS. Our products are marketed and sold on the global market, and our production has made Norway one of the world’s leading oil and gas exporters. Our top priority is safe, efficient and sustainable operation to pursue our long-term profitable production from the NCS.

In the technical integrity competence unit you will work with challenging and various tasks within technical integrity, technical support to operation, modifications and preparation for operation of new fields. Our task is to transform the Norwegian shelf and the work is dependent on good cooperation across and the ability to identify and change way of working. 

Job Description

To meet future needs, we are looking for pro-active and experienced material and inspection engineer within operation and maintenance of offshore installations.

Tasks:
•  Material support and technical integrity evaluation
•  Technical support to the operations group onshore / offshore on a day to day basis as well as during times of operational disruptions
•  Planning and closely follow-up execution of preventive inspection for static process equipment and load-bearing structures
•  Use of risk-based inspection methods in line with relevant specifications
•  Contribute to improve corrosion management through inspection reporting on platform systems
•  Efficient management of inspection contractors
•  Contribute to evaluations of findings
•  Sporadic offshore trips when needed 

Qualifications

•  Bachelor or master's degree with relevant experience from inspection or material technology
•  3-5 years of relevant experience preferred 
•  Good technical understanding
•  SAP knowledge is preferred
•  Good knowledge of current standards and regulatory requirements
•  Experience from inspection and risk-based inspection programmes
•  General competence within static process equipment and piping
•  General competence within NDT
•  General competence within corrosion mechanism
•  Good written and oral skills in English and Norwegian
