Purchasing and Operations Manager
Sweet Protection blends industry-leading innovation with the finest craftsmanship available to create the safest and most advanced helmets, goggles, protective gear and apparel. Distribution is strongest in Scandinavia, Europe and North America through retailers and own controlled ecommerce. The brand is currently under strong growth and we are looking for a resilient, analytical and good communicator able to get things done and run projects from start to finish according to deadlines.
Main tasks
Purchasing - Responsible for the overall purchasing process for all categories within the brand
- Develop and execute purchasing strategies and plans to ensure cost saving and targets are made
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
- Keep control and report on purchasing budgets
- Responsible for generating all POs and performing the actual hand over to the external factories
- Determine exact quantity and timing of deliveries and ensure communication internally
- Act as a liaise between production and logistics to safeguard optimal and timely deliveries
Inventory Management - Responsible for ensuring a healthy inventory status
- Continuously check stock levels and generate reports and statistics to monitor the development and mitigate risks
- Communication of inventory status to the sales team and reporting to Managing Director
Operations - Overall responsibility for Sweet Protections timeline system (all operations) and process descriptions
- Responsible for process descriptions in the organization
- Responsible for securing all master data in the ERP system
- Responsible for cross departmental timeline follow up and project management within the brand
- Follow up on production issues
Key qualifications:
- Master in either business administration and economics, logistics / supply chain or engineer with specialization in supply chain
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of relevant work experience from logistics, purchasing or category management with a proven record within the field or consultancy or business controller background
- Project manager experience is a plus
Specific personal attributes:
- Analytical and academically structured with strong numerical skills
- Significant attention to detail
- Well above average skills in MS Excel and preferably VBA
- Solid knowledge of ERP systems
- Experienced user of project management tools
- Ability to work independently
- Strong general understanding of the industry
The position sits in Oslo and reports to the Managing Director and is part of the Sweet Protection management group. It is important for us that the applicant is aligned with the Sweet Protection cultural values: Performance, Attitude, Integrity and Teamwork.
