Senior Cloud Orchestration and Virtualization Engineer

As a Senior cloud orchestration and virtualization Engineer, you will be part of Graphcore’s engineering team in Oslo developing Graphcore`s scale out technology for our Intelligence Processing Unit (IPU). In your work you will interact closely with the software and hardware teams to develop core IP and related components for our scale out solution.

You will be working on the orchestration and virtualization of high-performance hardware solutions for machines intelligence. This will involve building a deep understanding of software deployment, network orchestration and bare-metal deployment.

Special experience expected:

We are looking for people with expertise in software engineering, but also those with strong experience in deploying and administering orchestration platforms such as OpenStack or Kubernetes will be considered.

As a software engineer, you should be able to demonstrate experience in programming at least one language such as C, C++, Golang or Python.

If you currently are an administrator, you should have production experience deploying and managing a cloud-like data-center environment based on OpenStack, Kubernetes or similar platform. Some programming ability is expected as the position requires software development.

Generally, any experience with the following will be very useful:

• C, C++, Golang, Python, JavaScript
• High Performance Networking (Infiniband, RoCE, 40G+ Ethernet)
• Network Administration, SDN
• Kubernetes, OpenStack, VMware
• Public Cloud; AWS, Azure etc.
• Docker, Ansible (or similar)
• Continuous Deployment
• API Design, REST
• Distributed systems (storage, databases)
• etcd, Zookeeper
• Monitoring; Graphite, Prometheus, Grafana, Fluentd, ELK

SW background from the following will be useful:

• Master’s degree in computer science or other relevant technical degree
• General software development experience
• Test driven design
• Automated software testing
• Familiar with Scrum/Agile methodology
• Familiar with continuous integration: Phabricator, Jenkins, Gitlab or Buildbot
• Software configuration management: Git
