House of Yachts presenterer nå for salg denne klassikeren designet av Otto L. Scheen jr og bygget i 1998 ved Djupevåg båtbyggeri AS i Nordheimshund, Norge.

Otto L. Scheen var ansatt, partner og til slutt eier av selskapet Furuholmen. Hans lystbåter er også kjent som Furuholmen - cruisers. Argo tilhører den distinkte Scheen-serien av raske motorbåter. Argo er hans siste mesterverk.

Forward saloon:
Cupboard in the bow for storage - spare propeller included.
7 HP bow thruster with dual propellers underneath the forward seat – manual included.
Comfortable seating with storage space behind and below.
Seats can be used as makeshift beds with a mattress topper (preferably for children).
Wardrobe with shelves for storage.
Bathroom with washbasin and toilet with electric flush – manual included.
Cupboard for storage
Access to second electric bilge pump.

Cockpit:
Dual seat on starboard.
Battery-charger and transformer for shore-power underneath footrest.
Cupboard below the seat is used for fenders and the manual bilge-pump.
Single seat on port.
Cool-storage underneath the footrest with self-draining space for a bucket of ice-cubes.
Refrigerator with compressor below the seat.
Comfortable seatings with storage-space behind and underneath.
Dual consumer-battery and single starter-battery underneath aft seat.
Diode-separation for charging to protect the starter-battery from consumption.
Pantry with two kitchens-sinks
Duale hotplate using lamp-oil with electric control – manual included
Cupboard with tank for the lamp-oil.

Aft cabin:
Spacious cabin with two comfortable beds, wash basin and ample storage space.
Anchor-winch inside the cupboard – manual included.

Dashboard:
Original GPS with echo-sounder – manual included.
Original Autopilot – manual included.

GPS:
The GPS-screen appeared to shrink over the years and a replacement was installed.
It consisted of a 12 V instrument-type data-screen and a PC with map-reader.

Hull:
The hull is made of Canadian red cedar covered with 3-axis fiberglass outside and inside and
with additional layers below the waterline and with epoxy used thorough - cold-baked.
Above the waterline the hull is spray-painted with Standox 2-component car-lacquer.
It was repainted some 12 years ago.
The deck is marine plywood with teak on top – glued on with epoxy and with epoxy grout.
The stern or transom is covered with mahogany plywood in the classical style.

Superstructure:
All sides are mahogany plywood.

Inside:
All vertical surfaces are mahogany plywood.
All horizonal surfaces are teak.
All seats are leather.

Special feature:
The boat moves horizontally to about 10 knots.
Then the bow rises to 4 deg. and stay there all the way to about 25 knops.

According to Mr. Scheen this is the optimal performance.
The flaps are not required to control this.
Their only purpose is to maintain the transverse equilibrium – with less water in the port tank.

Seaworthiness:
The boat has once been in heavy seas with waves of 5 - 6 meters and performed well.
It was certainly an experience to remember but not one I ever wanted to repeat.

Other:
Type approval was not required for one-off pleasure-crafts at the time of building ARGO.
Designed by Otto L. Scheen jr. and built by Kristian Djupevåg are, however, stamps of
quality.
ARGO has served us well, but for health-reasons we have not been able to use it for several
years – short trips to and from the mooring is all.
The engine has been conserved each year.
We have finally realized that there will be no further use of ARGO and have decided that it is
time for a new and caring owner to enjoy and maintain it with loving care.

Engine:
6-sylinder, 5,2 liter, Yanmar – manual included.
Electric-motor-controller (to minimize noise to the dashboard) – manual included.
500 liter diesel-tank – stainless steel.
600 hrs. service just before we had to give up using ARGO.

Motor-room:
Access via removeable covers in the cockpit.
The motor-room is well lit with LED-fixtures – upgraded from the original lamps.
200 litre freshwater-tank on the port side.
60 litre water-heater on the starbord side – heated by mains and engine coolant.
Septic tank in front of the engine – stainless steel.
Air-heater – heated by the engine coolant – manual included.
Electric bilge pump.
Sound-insulation has been upgraded.

The PC failed and was not replaced. A new GPS may be a better option.
