Hello, yes , i asked myself the same question and have just done a test on my Metrix toobz tester . The 5763 seems to be a perfect sub of the EL84 . One caveat : It's a real TETRODE, not a pentode but, as you previously said , original RF. So the G1 might be a reinforced one , against secondary emission in C class . I've sold myself 50 pieces on epay in the last months as i have a huge stock of them ... So it is worth a try . ON AA , a guy claimed he tried it in an AF amp without any problem. I have the project to build an OTL amp with 24 5763 / channel :clown: Yes 48 5763 in STEREO :smash: :D ;)

The Brimar 5763 is a small transmitting beam tetrode valve for HF and low VHF use and is equivalent to the Mullard QV03-12.
John Fielding ZS5JF has sent the following information and the RCA data-sheet.
The 5763 was extensively used as an oscillator, multiplier or power amplifier in HF and VHF equipment. The old Marconi Instruments Q meter variable frequency oscillators used it, also used in the power supply as a series regulator valve. The useful upper frequency limit is about 300 MHz. It was also used as a driver or PA in some early Pye Telecomms VHF mobile radios before being superseded by the twin tetrode QQV03-10 type of valves.
