Associate Trader, Fixed Income Systematic Trading

Norges Bank Investment Management is looking for an Associate Trader to join our Fixed Income Systematic Trading team. You will work closely with colleagues within the team, as well as portfolio managers and traders, with a global presence spanning Oslo, London, New York, and Singapore.

Fixed Income Systematic Trading is a newly established team sitting at the intersection of quantitative analysis, technology, and markets, transforming how we trade through data-driven, automated approaches across our global fixed income portfolio. This is a rare opportunity to be part of building something from the ground up.

The position is based in Oslo and reports to the Head of Fixed Income Systematic Trading .

Duties and responsibilities

What you will do

• Trade across the full product spectrum: bonds, FX, and derivatives, actively contributing to the expansion of auto-execution capabilities.
  
• Develop and implement quantitative trading strategies across fixed income markets using statistical analysis, machine learning, and algorithmic approaches.
  
• Build and maintain data infrastructure that supports systematic trading at scale.
  
• Implement AI tools and automation pipelines to continuously improve trading performance and decision-making.
  
• Collaborate with technology teams to ensure robust, scalable implementations across our global platform.

What you need

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a quantitative field. A strong interest in fixed income markets and a sound understanding of how they work is essential.
  
• Familiarity with fixed income products; bonds, derivatives, and FX, and a genuine curiosity about how systematic approaches can improve trading outcomes.
  
• Strong programming skills; Python in particular, and comfort working with large datasets and modern data infrastructure.
  
• A rigorous, analytical approach and a demonstrated ability to translate quantitative ideas into production-ready systems.
  
• A genuine interest in applying AI and technology to trading and investment management.
  
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and time zones.
