Excellent for video and stills
One of the lens' most interesting features is the unique Movie & Still Compatible (MSC) mechanism that is unique to Olympus. This technology provides incredibly fast and almost silent autofocus. You'll really notice the benefits when you play back your HD video, and the only thing you'll hear is the ambient background noise of the scene you were filming; what you won't hear is the sound of the lens moving as it focuses.
High optical performance
With ten individual lens elements in nine groups, a metal construction and a lightweight weight of just 303g, this lens is a truly advanced feat of engineering. Among these elements are three ED (extra-low refractive index) lenses that correct chromatic aberration and two HR (high refractive index) lenses that correct spherical aberration. All lens elements feature Olympus ZERO coating technology to virtually eliminate ghosting and flare.
