Head of Data Governance

We are now looking for a Head of Data Governance to take ownership of how we define, protect, and govern data across the organization - setting the standards and structures that allow data to be a reliable asset for everyone who depends on it.

Your role

You will be part of the IT leadership team, reporting to the IT Director, and lead our Data Governance function.

Your responsibility is to build and maintain the frameworks, policies, and standards that define how data is owned, classified, and used across Orkla Snacks.

You operate together with Head of Data, with the mandate to challenge, align, and set direction - across business units, platforms, and functions.

It is a strategic ownership role for someone who understands that good governance is what makes data trustworthy at scale.

What you will be working on

• Owning and developing the enterprise Data Governance framework - policies, principles, and standards
• Defining and enforcing data ownership structures across business units and domains
• Establishing metadata standards, data dictionaries, and business glossaries
• Setting data quality standards and the processes that uphold them
• Managing and evolving data classification and access policies, including compliance with regulatory requirements such as GDPR
• Driving adoption of governance practices into real business processes - not just documentation
• Working closely with Head of Data & Analytics to ensure governance frameworks support platform development and data product delivery
• Representing data governance in cross-functional forums and leadership discussions

Who we are looking for

You have experience with Data and governance in a complex, international organization - and you know what it takes to make it work in practice. Experience from FMCG is an advantage.

We believe you:

• Have implemented governance structures across multiple business units
• Have experience with SAP and preferably tools such as SAP MDG or similar
• Understand how data connects to end-to-end business processes
• Have led and developed teams
• Communicate effectively in English

As a person, you bring direction and structure, but also the ability to engage and align stakeholders across functions. You are comfortable driving change and focused on delivering results.
