Are you our next Service Technician?

NOV Downhole is seeking a skilled and service-oriented Service Technician to join our dynamic team at the Stavanger service centre. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of downhole drilling tools, supporting operations that are critical to the offshore oil and gas industry. You’ll work in a collaborative and high-tech environment that emphasizes safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform repair and maintenance on downhole drilling equipment,

• General workshop duties: cleaning, prepping tools for NDT inspection, dispatch preparation,

• Operate workshop service and lifting equipment safely and efficiently,

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment,

• Follow and promote QHSE standards,

• Participate in regular equipment checks and preventive maintenance routines.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent,

• Mechanical background (e.g. car mechanic),

• Fluent in English,

• Basic computer skills (MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook),

• Strong communication skills,

• Ability to work independently and take initiative.

Nice if you have…

• Working experience as a Service Technician on drilling tools,

• Familiarity with mud motors,

• Norwegian language skills (spoken/written),

• Fluent in English, both written and spoken

• Forklift license (T4, T5, T8),

• Crane license (G4),

• Knowledge of HSE standards.
