JAPEX Norge is seeking an Asset Manager - Production & Development to play a key role in the company’s leadership team in Norway. The role carries broad responsibility for asset performance, value creation and field development across the E&P lifecycle.

You will work closely with Operators and partners to influence key decisions in licenses, ensuring optimal development strategies, efficient production performance, and long-term value delivery. The role combines strategic oversight with active participation in technical and commercial decision-making.

Production and development asset acquisitions is a core part of JAPEX Norge’s growth strategy, and you will contribute to screening, due diligence and asset evaluations for new opportunities on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

This is a full-time position based in Stavanger, within a lean and international organization with direct interaction with JAPEX headquarters in Tokyo.

Key Responsibilities 

• Manage production and development activities in JAPEX Norge’s portfolio.

• Optimise JAPEX's technical and commercial interests in our production and development licenses 

• Proactive management of all the operational processes involving all disciplines from subsurface, drilling, subsea, facilities, commercial and financial, for the valuation of all investments and project decisions.

• Represent JAPEX Norge in licence committees and partner meetings and actively co-operate with and challenge operators and license partners to optimize value and maintain high safety standards.

• Develop and utilize partner and vendor network.

• Establish and follow up the annual JAPEX Norge work programme for the portfolio and secure growth for the company by utilizing the Company's technical, financial and commercial resources in an optimal way.

• Maintain professional knowledge base, particularly best practice.

Qualifications and experience 

• MSc Degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent.

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience within E&P, including exposure to development and/or production roles.

• Strong understanding of the full E&P lifecycle, from exploration through development to production operations.

• Experience working with NCS assets and familiarity with regulatory processes.

• Proven ability to work across disciplines and influence decision-making in a partner-operated environment.

• Fluent in written and spoken English.
