Engineering the Next Generation of Submarine Combat Systems

 

kta naval systems is a joint venture company owned by Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (KDA), TKMS and TKMS ATLAS ELEKTRONIK. The company serves as the exclusive supplier and Design Authority for the complete combat systems delivered to TKMS submarines.

kta naval systems has its headquarters in Kongsberg, Norway and a branch office in Bremen, Germany.

We are currently seeking Systems Engineers to help shape the future of submarines through the ORCCA Combat System.

 

YOU WILL:

• Participate in the design and development submarine systems
• Contribute to system architecture and interface definitions
• Coordinate technical topics with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Support specification and follow-up of subsystems from external partners
• Assist in integration, testing, verification, and validation activities
• Establish interfaces between subsystems and also with the customer systems/platform
• Participate in system-level troubleshooting and commissioning activities

 

YOU BRING:

• A degree in engineering, physics, computer science, or a comparable technical discipline
• Experience in systems engineering, system integration, or complex technical projects
• Structured and analytical working style
• Interest in complex, interdisciplinary systems
• Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate across teams
• Fluent English (additional languages beneficial depending on suppliers)
• Experience or academic exposure is preferred in one or more of:
  • Submarine systems
  • Network architectures and technology
  • Information security and cyber security
  • Communication systems and transmission methods
  • Optical sensor
  • Acoustic sensors (passive or active SONAR)
  • Model based design
  • Logistics and follow on technical support

This position will require some travel.
