Build the firmware that powers the robots behind the world’s fastest warehouse automation system!
Join AutoStore and Help Shape the Future of Warehouse Automation!
At AutoStore, firmware is where motion control, embedded systems, and robotics come together. As a Senior Firmware Engineer, you will work across the full product lifecycle within our R&D organization, designing, developing, testing, and refining the firmware that powers our hardware platforms.
You’ll work close to the technology, contributing to complex embedded systems while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-performance solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work across different layers of embedded development and play a key role in evolving our firmware capabilities as our products continue to grow.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Develop and maintain firmware for microcontroller-based systems in C/C++ (bare-metal and RTOS), including work on STM32 (ARM Cortex-M) platforms.
Integrate and control hardware peripherals such as SPI, I2C, UART, DMA, GPIO, and interrupts, working closely with hardware teams.
Debug and validate embedded systems using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG/SWD, while working with schematics and hardware datasheets.
Contribute to embedded Linux development, including building custom Linux images (e.g., Yocto) and working with board support packages.
Design robust, maintainable firmware by applying solid software engineering practices such as version control, modular architecture, and automated builds.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybernetics, Robotics, Embedded Systems, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Proficient programming in Embedded C/C++, particularly for microcontroller-based systems and motion control applications.
Hands-on experience with embedded development, including bare-metal or RTOS environments.
Experience with embedded Linux is a plus, particularly in systems where Linux interacts with microcontroller-based platforms.
Experience with HMI or user interface integration is beneficial.
