About the role

Quorum Software is looking for an early-career Software Engineer to join our engineering team in Stavanger.

You will work on Energy Components (EC), a leading hydrocarbon management and production accounting software used by energy companies worldwide. As part of a collaborative Agile team, you will contribute to developing and maintaining enterprise software that supports the energy industry’s operations.

This role is well suited for someone who is curious about technology, enjoys problem solving, and wants to grow as a software engineer in a supportive environment.

You will work alongside developers across different experience levels and receive mentorship while building practical experience with modern development tools and practices.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the full software development lifecycle within an Agile team

• Develop, test, and maintain application features

• Investigate issues, identify root causes, and implement fixes

• Collaborate with developers, product teams, and stakeholders

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code

• Learn and apply new technologies, tools, and development practices

• Explore emerging technologies such as AI and automation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related field

• Recent graduate or early career

• Solid understanding of programming concepts and software development fundamentals

• Experience with Java or similar object-oriented programming languages (through coursework or personal projects)

• Basic knowledge of databases and SQL

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Good written and spoken English. Norwegian skills are a bonus

Nice to have

• Experience with Oracle databases or PL/SQL

• Familiarity with Git or other version control systems

• Understanding of Agile development methods

• Basic knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)

• Experience with REST APIs

• Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
