We are looking for our next Technical Manager
Technical Manager Platform Drilling
Archer is seeking a Technical Manager in the platform drilling segment, to strengthen our onshore operations and ensure world?class support to our operations. This is a key leadership role responsible for safeguarding the technical performance, maintenance execution and reliability of equipment across multiple rigs and contracts, while driving safe, cost?efficient well deliveries.
The role combines people leadership, customer interaction, technical coordination, and long?term planning. You will work closely with onshore leadership, engineering, supply chain, and clients to secure high quality technical operations throughout the drilling lifecycle.
The position also contributes to long-term maintenance planning, budgeting, and performance follow-up. This includes verifying maintenance work, analysing operational data, improving equipment reliability, and ensuring required inspections, certifications, and overhauls are completed according to regulations.
Key responsibilities
Leadership and management:
- Lead and develop maintenance and technical support team onshore, ensuring clear roles, competence development, and strong team collaboration.
- Cross division coordination, between maintenance, engineering, vertical, supply chain etc, within Archer.
- Support recruitment, succession planning, training programs, and onboarding/offboarding processes.
- Drive an open, safety?focused culture built on integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Act as a primary technical interface towards client management, ensuring professional communication and timely follow?up.
- Navigate contract expectations and operational priorities in a dynamic, customer?driven environment.
Technical Operations:
- Ensure technical integrity aligned with regulatory requirements, OEM recommendations, NOG standards, and operator obligations.
- Oversee planning performance, including budgeting, long?term strategies, KPIs, and operational reporting.
- Own and develop maintenance systems, procedures, and documentation to ensure reliability and compliance.
- Support tendering processes, evaluation of technical scopes, and assessment of contract options.
- Provide technical support and coordination for offshore maintenance activities and equipment repairs and alignment with engineering scope.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership skills
- 5-10 years of relevant experience within drilling, maintenance, technical management, or offshore operations.
- Technical education (Bachelor, technical college, or equivalent experience).
- Strong understanding of drilling equipment, maintenance systems, and offshore operational standards.
- Written and oral English proficiency
- Competence requirements according to NOG standards and customer contracts
